Here Comes Winter

This was what our backyard looked like yesterday. Two days ago it was nearly 90 degrees! This must be a sign of a good ski season this year. Better go see if the tomatoes survived!

Wheeler Farm

My Friend Sue and I took the boys to Wheeler Farm this week. As you can see, Jackson was pretty enthralled with the whole thing. I guess he liked the horse the best!

If it's good enough for the dog....

Here's Jackson trying to cuddle with Cha Cha while we were in Wisconsin.

Baby Goats and Apple Cider

Last Sunday we drove from Detroit to Milwaukee and after driving through Chicago traffic, we needed a break. So we stopped at the Apple Holler farm right outside Kenosha on the Wisconsin/Illinois border for some cider and doughnuts. Jackson had fun meeting the baby goats. Just wish we would have had time to do some apple pickin'.

The Healing Field

Every year Sandy City puts up this memorial for the victims of 9/11. There are almost 3000 flags, one for every person who died in the attacks. The names of everyone who died are on each flag. It's amazing to see.

Farmer's Market

Tim and I finally had a day off together so we took advantage and went to the Farmer's Market and then to the Avenues Street Fair. We watched the IHC Life Flight helicopter land at the fair and Tim got to sit in it. Of course I forgot the camera so didn't get a picture but here is what we got at the farmer's market! Wish I could say I grew those peppers but mine aren't ready yet! Maybe next year we'll get that many raspberries too!

Labor Day

We took Jack to a neighbor's pool on labor day. The grumpy face was pretty much the order of the day and he didn't stay in the turtle very long. Oh well. Maybe next time....
